What Our Students Say: Mickson Mwale Shares His Luanar eCampus Journey

At Luanar eCampus, students are not just studying for degrees, they are building skills to change their communities. One of these students is Mickson Mwale, a District Coordinator working with COMSIP Cooperative Union Limited in Nsanje District.

While working full-time, Mickson is also pursuing a Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development through Luanar eCampus. His goal is clear: to better understand climate change and help communities become more resilient.

Choosing Flexible Learning

For Mickson, flexibility was very important. He needed a programme that would allow him to continue working while studying.

“I chose Luanar eCampus because it offers flexible online learning, which allows me to study while continuing my professional work.”

Luanar eCampus is designed for working professionals and lifelong learners who want quality education without leaving their jobs. You can learn more about the institution and its mission here.

Learning That Connects to Real Life

Mickson’s studies are not just theoretical. The knowledge he gains in class directly connects to the challenges he sees every day in Nsanje, where communities are often affected by climate-related disasters.

Through the programme, he has developed skills in climate change adaptation, sustainable development planning, and research. These skills help him support communities to build stronger and more climate-resilient livelihoods.

One experience stood out during his studies, assignments focused on climate resilience.

This practical approach is what makes the programme meaningful. Luanar eCampus also continues to expand skills in areas such as digital transformation and sustainability, as highlighted in Climate Change and Agribusiness Digital Transformation Skills for Career Growth.

Overcoming Challenges

Like many online students, Mickson has faced challenges such as internet connectivity and power supply issues. Balancing work, studies, and personal life also requires strong time management.

But with planning and discipline, he makes it work, often studying during evenings and weekends.

At first, he had doubts about online education. However, his experience changed his perspective.

“At first, I thought it would be difficult to stay motivated, but I have learned that with discipline and good time management, online learning is very effective.”

Today, he sees online learning as structured, interactive, and supportive.

Opening Career Opportunities

Programmes like this not only build knowledge but also open career pathways in sustainability, agribusiness, and climate-related fields. Graduates can explore a wide range of opportunities, as explained in Career Paths in Agribusiness and Sustainability: Opportunities for Luanar eCampus Graduates.

For Mickson, the journey has strengthened both his confidence and his commitment to creating change.

“My Luanar eCampus journey has been an inspiring and transformative experience that is strengthening my knowledge, confidence, and passion for creating sustainable change.”
